🍃well, the bulk of cannabinoids are produced in trichomes which are tiny resinous hairs that cover the leaves and female plant flowers of the cannabis and hemp plant.⁠

🌻the most concentrated source of cannabinoids are found in the unfertilised flower of the female plant.⁠

🌱as the female plant is looking to get fertilised she produces more & more of the sticky resin in a bid to improve her chances of a seed to stick to her. ⁠

1️⃣cbga is known as the mother cannabinoid, and is made first.⁠

2️⃣this is then converted through a number of different enzymes and pathways into the other cannabinoids, including the acid forms of cbd & thc, alongside other useful cannabinoids such as cbg, cbn, cbc. ⁠

🔥these acid versions are their natural forms found in the raw plant, & need to be heated to become the medicinal forms we are more familiar with - thc & cbd⁠

❕interestingly if you were to eat a raw cannabis leaf, it would not have an intoxicating effect⁠

❌this is because thca is non-intoxicating, unlike its sister compound thc – which you will find from our history series is why most ancient civilisations preferred to smoke or use a cannabis/hemp extract for medicine – as we continue to do today!
